“I came from quite a dispatch background so I saw this kind of inequality in education between those that could maybe afford to pay for more and those that couldn’t. So I think that education is really important to me because of the school that I came from in the area that I was in.

I had quite a lot of difficulties at school and my teachers really helped me and they didn’t give up on me and they really inspired me to want to be a better person so I thought that would be a great profession to go back into, because without my teachers, I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today.

I’m a secondary school teacher and I’ve been working with my primary school colleagues, and they’ve taught me a lot which kind of from the primary perspective that I’ve never really had before. So it’s been good to learn from my colleagues and also run from the other teachers here in Laos, and they’ve given us ideas that I can take home to my class.

I think I’ve got a fresh passion now, seeing the teachers here, they’ve been teaching to us and showing us their techniques and sharing with us it hasn’t been us and them, we’ve been working together and sharing ideas. I’m going to come home with so many amazing ideas.

I couldn’t recommend it enough, it’s amazing. I’m so glad that I kind of stepped out my comfort zone to come here. I didn’t really know what to expect, but it’s been above all my expectations. And I’ve really enjoyed on working with the teachers, working with the different Fellows and just everyone together has been the best experience ever.”
